This map puzzle is from a scarce large format 1936 geological survey of Hong Kong issued by the British War Office. The immense detail of the map can grant the viewer a glimpse into life during the early days of Fragrant Harbour.

Topography is shown using contours, heights in feet above sea level are marked. Colour-coding throughout identifying different soil and bedrock types.

Cities, towns and villages are labelled throughout the Crown Colony, including numerous historical buildings in Victoria, such as the Murray Barracks and the Tai-Ku Sugar Factory.
